This lesson explores the work of First Nations Australian artists and how they use symbols and draw inspiration from the landscape to create their artworks. Students will work with acrylic paint and fine liners to create their own abstract Australian landscape.
Year level suitability: Foundation – Secondary
Duration: Approximately 2 lessons
Materials:
- Thick cartridge paper (150gsm +), card or canvas
- Acrylic paint
- Paint markers
- Acetate or plastic sheets to mix paint on
- Images of Australian landscapes
