Matisse Stained Glass

This lesson explores the work of Henri Matisse and chalk pastel drawing techniques inspired by his stained-glass artworks. Students will use PVA and chalk pastel to replicate a stained-glass style in their artwork.

Year level suitability: Level 3 – Level 6

Duration: Approximately 2 lessons

Materials: Black paper, PVA glue (in bottle), Chalk pastels, Eraser, Example images of Matisse’s stained-glass artworks
