Air Drying Clay Creature

In this lesson students will create an air-dried clay sculpture inspired by the work of Shaun Tan. Students will construct an armature out of foil as their base of their work and explore form, scale and texture to create a sculpture.

Year level suitability: Level 3 – Level 6

Duration: Approximately 3 lessons

Materials:

• Aluminium foil

• Air drying clay

• Creature eyes

• Watercolour paint

• Oil Pastels
